Skiing in Bormio
You can ski in Bormio all year round! The cable cars are open almost 365 days a year. In winter in Bormio, Santa Caterina Valfurva and Valdidentro, in summer on the Stelvio glacier.
It is one of the most famous ski resorts in the Alps. Its slopes include the longest downhill course in Italy (more than 1,800 meters, from an altitude of 3,000 meters on Cima Bianca to the center of Bormio at 1,200 meters) and the largest summer ski resort in Europe.
The season never ends in Bormio. Since skis first arrived as a means of transportation, Bormio has had a strong ski culture that has shaped its identity. Today, they are known throughout the world for the Downhill World Cup, as well as the Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics in 2026 and as one of Europe's best summer skiing destinations.

Winter is of course the ideal season for skiing. Between December and April, the three ski regions in the area, Bormio Ski, Santa Caterina Valfurva and Cima Piazzi Happy Mountain (Valdidentro), offer a total of 110 km of pistes and 36 lifts. One ski pass for a unique location with a unique offer.
And then there's the legendary Stelvio track! The course, used by professionals for World Cup downhill races, is famous for challenging the skills and legs of even the best skiers in the world!
Santa Caterina Valfurva, a paradise for skiers
The resort of Santa Caterina Valfurva is a rare example of development in an environmental protection area. In fact, it is one of only a handful of ski resorts in Italy that lies entirely within the wild and stunning surroundings of a national park, in this case the Stelvio National Park. On some winter mornings, when fresh snow falls, Santa Caterina looks like a miniature version of Finland, with snow-covered trees creating a fairytale appearance.
