Slovenian Riviera as we call it, is located in the gulf of Trieste by the Adriatic sea and comes with typical Mediterranean climate, it is easily reachable from the capital Ljubljana in just 45 minutes and can be a great day trip while visiting Slovenia.

Unfortunately Slovenia doesn’t have many beaches. Althought we have only 46,6 km of coastline, we have 21 natural beaches. In Portoroz, Koper, Strunjan, Izola, Fiesa, Simonov zaliv (Simon's bay), Mesecev zaliv (Moon bay), Debeli Rtic, Ankaran you find beach suitable for swimming.

Blue Flag is a reward for very clean beach.

PORTOROSE

The most atractive beach in Portorose is called Central beach. During the summer is beach crowded with people from all over the world. The synonim of Portorose beach are the wooden piers. A part of the Central beach is called Medusa beach. You can lay on comfortable deckchairs with colourful parasols.

Nearby the beach is famous Portorose promenade full of good restaurants with delicious food and shops with clothes and jewelery.

STRUNJAN

Swim in Moon bay. Swim along the most wonderful part of the Slovenian coastline, it is a part of natural park Strunjan and sea habitat. Here are specl rules! In Moon bay you must not anchoring the ships. Because you cannot park nearby, only in Strunjan parking, from where you must walk through the hill and down the cliff, is Moon bay peacful and calm place on Slovenian coast.
Another path is along the cliff from Krka pools in Strunjan. But be careful-you can walk only in time of low tide.
Moon bay is a perfect place for all who enjoy in peace.

IZOLA

Simonov zaliv. Located in Isola, concrete beach with activities for children, promenade to Koper/Capodistria. Isola is becoming from year to year more famous town on Slovenian coast.
