Slovenia is considered as water rich country, and part of this water wealth are also lakes. Lakes in Slovenia are one of the most beautiful tourist and excursion spots, since they are suitable for trips with families, in some lakes you can also swim.

LAKE BLED
The most famous lake in Slovenia is Lake Bled. It lies at an altitude of 475 m and is 2120 m long and 1080 m wide, with an area of 147 ha and the deepest point at 30 m. The path around the lake is 6 km long and is suitable for recreation.
In the summer months, the temperature of the water warms up to 23 degrees. On the shore of the lake there is a castle bath, which is arranged with toilets, wardrobe and children's playgrounds.
You can also take a boat along the lake and admire the beautiful surrounding nature.

- The Vintgar gorge

THE LAKE OF BOHINJ
Bohinj Lake is the largest natural lake in Slovenia. It is located within the Triglav National Park and offers a beautiful view of the Julian Alps.
The lake is 4100 meters long and 1200 meters wide, with an area of 318 ha and the deepest point at 45 meters.
In the summer months, you can also refresh yourself in the lake, as the temperature reaches a pleasant 22 degrees.
Lake Bohinj is a great destination for strollers, hikers, bikers, climbers, fishermen and all lovers who want to spend their vacation in nature.
In Bohinj you can also visit:
- SAVICA WATERFALL
The third most visited attraction in Slovenia. A spectacular waterfall, hidden amidst the steep walls of the Komarča.
- VOGEL (1535 M)
Panoramic cable car ride and spectacular vistas.
Take the cable car up to Mount Vogel at 1,535 m and enjoy spectacular views of the mountains, that are also available to those who, due to different reasons, are unable to climb the mountains themselves. Ideal starting point for short or long hiking tours (more than 1000 meters above Lake Bohinj, guide can be hired). Diverse culinary offer and accommodation.

JASNA LAKE
Reflections of mountains in the crystal clear lake water.
Before the first road bends to Vršič, stop for a short break at the Jasna Lake. It consists of two interconnected artificial lakes at the confluence of the Velika Pišnica and Mala Pišnica streams.
The area around the lake offers nice trails, but you can also enjoy fishing since it is a well-known fishing district. Of course, fly fishing is the only type allowed.
At the end, take a group photo beside the proud bronze Ibex.

KRNSKO LAKE - The Krnsko jezero lake
The largest mountain lake in Slovenia lies at an altitude of 1391 m. The Krnsko jezero lake is close to 400 m long, 150 m wide and up to 17 m deep. It provides a habitat for 40 plant species – mostly algae – and 24 species of lower animals, predominantly small crayfish. Swimming is prohibited in order to protect the lake's ecosystem.
