Osojko Jezero - Ossiacher See

Ossiacher See (German and in Austria called Ossiacher See) is a glacial lake, which is the third largest lake in Austria.

It is located at an altitude of about 500 m above sea level, north of Villach in Carinthia, Austria.

Geography
The lake is 52 m deep at its deepest point and about 19 m on average. The surface area is about 10.5 km². From southwest to northeast it measures about 10.2 km, at its narrowest point near Ossiach it is about 600 m wide. It is surrounded by steep slopes covered with forests, where there is also the Gerlitzen ski resort (Osojisce), to which a gondola leads.

The eastern bay is occupied by the Bleistätter marsh, through which the Tiebel stream, a tributary of the lake, flows. The Villacher Seebach (Villach Lake) flows out of the lake into the Drava.

The Ossiacherseeradweg R2, a cycling route of approximately 25 km, runs around the lake.
