Useful information

Zablaško Jezero - Turnersee

Lake Turnersee is considered one of the warmest bathing lakes in Austria and has a maximum depth of 13m.

As early as 996, when Austria was first mentioned, Lake Turner was one of the cleanest bodies of water in the country - they say!

This has not changed to this day and still provides carefree bathing pleasure. The lake has drinking water quality.

The lake is located, like Lake Goslin on the Rikar village plateau. The lake is the remnant of a once large post-glacial lake, which included the present-day lake as well as the Zablatnik marsh meadows and had an area of approximately 9 km². Meanwhile, the Zablatnik meadows have dried up to a small pond, while Lake Turnersee has been preserved as a body of water.

Common reed, primrose and common feverfew, among others, grow on the lake's coastal shallows. Water lilies grow in the lake.

Ten species of fish can be found in the lake, including tench, pike, carp, perch and catfish. Crayfish also find their home. Among the birds on the lake, you can also find the grebe. There are seven swimming areas around the lake, including two campsites and a few guesthouses.

In summer, the lake reaches a water temperature of up to 28 degrees Celsius. The idyllic swimming lake with high-quality drinking water on a total area of 44.2 hectares attracts mainly those guests seeking peace and relaxation.
