Toscana - Mare

Tuscany (in the Italian original Toscana [toskàna]), is one of the twenty countries that make up Italy. In the north it borders with the country of Emilia-Romagna, in the east with Marche and Umbria, in the south with Lazio and in the west with Liguria and the Tyrrhenian Sea. Tuscany also includes the Tuscan archipelago between the Ligurian and Tyrrhenian seas. Tuscany measures 23,000 km² and has just under 4 million inhabitants.

In Tuscany, there are six UNESCO World Heritage sites: the historic center of Florence (1982), the historic center of Siena (1995), the Piazza del Duomo in Pisa (1987), the historic center of San Gimignano (1990), the historic center of Pienza (1996) and the Val d Orcia (2004).

Holidays in Tuscany will take you on an invigorating trip back in time. From Renaissance art in Florence to Gothic brick buildings in Siena and many castles, museums and fine art in between.

Sometimes you feel as if you have been transported to the dreamy beaches of the Caribbean or the Maldives when you look across the white sand and bright turquoise water; the postcard idyll seems almost unreal. The region is considered a true bathing paradise, and beach holidays are possible almost everywhere along the coast. One of these dream beaches is Lido di Camaiore on the coast of Versilia.
